5 reasons why you should “DisneyBound” on your Disney vacation

What is Disneybounding? The term was coined years ago by a blogger who was planning her outfits for her upcoming Disney trip and named the blog “Disney Bound”. Now it is a term used to explain a Disney-inspired outfit. A “bound” is not a t-shirt with Mickey on it or a Princess dress. A bound is a subtle nod to a character, park, ride or anything related to Disney.

PhotoPass Photographers Will Give You Extra Time & Cute Photo Ops!

This is one of my favorite reasons I love Disneybounding in the parks! I can’t promise this will happen, but it happens to me all the time! You will get opportunities other guests won’t get and more time with photopass photographers. They love it when they see people really go “all-in” with their outfits. Especially in the areas of the park that inspired your outfit. For example, I was dressed in a Star Wars inspired outfits and a photopass photographer pulled me aside and spend a solid 20 minutes with me. It was awesome!

Castmembers love it and will sprinkle you with “Pixie dust”

Again, this is guaranteed to happen. However, I’ve found when you make castmembers smile they want to make you smile! What does it mean to be “sprinkled” with Pixiedust? Basically it’s a term us Disney people use to refer to special experiences, gifts, and interactions that castmembers can make happen for guests of their choosing. I LOVE it when castmembers recognize and compliment my outfit. My husband likes rank my outfits based on the “count” of compliments I get, haha! I randomly had a castmember hand me this walking through Epcot on my last trip.

It’s fun! Even if you aren’t into fashion normally

I’ve never been the kind of girl who plans her outfits with alot of thought, except the rare special occasion. I don’t put alot of thought into my day-to-day wardrobe. However, when I go to Disney I get so excited to add special touches to my vacation wardrobe. It seems more manageable because it’s not something I do all the time. Don’t get me wrong, you will find me in the park with a Disney tee & biker shorts from time to time. I don’t plan a full bound for every day of my trip typically, but I like to pick at least a few days that I go “all-in”.

It’s a sneaky way to get your family to “match” without matching t-shirts

Because a bound isn’t supposed to be overtly Disney you can possibly coordinate your family as a cast of Disney characters without them even realizing it. Even if they do realize it they might be more comfortable wearing something that is more subtle. Simply type “disney bound” in Pinterest and thousands upon thousands of outfit ideas will be laid out for you. It’s as easy as that!

You will get incredibly cute photos!

This may be the biggest advantage to Disneybounding! The individual & family photos will be undeniably adorable, even if you are all sweating like pigs. If you invested in photopass you will want those picture to be cute!
